That's one of my pet peeves . . . there is no such thing as "pleading innocent" or being "found innocent." Grrrr.

Oh, that first interview of Rusty's, I definitely believed he was in shock. I kept thinking, he is going to wake up in a week or two and be so embarrassed at some of the things he just said.

Wrong! That's "just Rusty." I can't stand the sight of him.

As for Andrea's mental health, or lack thereof, I believe she was officially diagnosed as schizophrenic during the testing when she was first jailed. That predisposed her to postpartum psychosis, not just depression.

She had first manifested symptoms in childhood and there is a history of mental illnesses in her family - dad and siblings. After Noah was born, she first started hearing from "Satan," who was telling her to stab the baby with a long knife.

Then she had severe postpartum depression after the 4th baby, in 1999 and tried to commit suicide at least twice. There were lots more incidents in between, but those stuck out as being related to the children. "Crazy as a bedbug," I believe is the generic term for her condition. I feel very sorry for her if it's true that she knows what's going on.

Yes. It IS a medical condition. Hormone imbalance can be a cause of many problems. You might want to check out what Brooke Shields had to say about post partum depression. She is very fortunate that it did not escalate into full blown psychosis. I'm sure that you can find the names of her doctors, and insult their intelligence.

For the record, I believe the best place for Andrea Yates is to live in a secured mental facility for the rest of her natural days. She was most definitely incapable of caring for children, and it was well documented before she killed them.

Sorry Tom. Nice try though....

Before she married Rusty, wasn't Andrea a nurse? Schizophrenia can pop out of nowhere, but if you're predisposed to it, childbirth will certainly bring it on. The minute she heard Satan talking to her, something should have been done. It's a damn shame that the doctor's hands were legally tied behind their backs.

A year or so ago, Andrea tried to kill herself. Apparently the doctors finally got her medication at the right dose : (

I've been trying to remember Rusty's second tv appearance, and I think it was when Andrea first went on trial. Talk about innapropriate behavior. My thoughts about him changed drastically. Here is a man whose children are gone forever, and he's grinning and yucking it up. I can't stand the sight of him either.

Strapped to a gurney? I don't think they do that to mental patients anymore.

Am I wrong or is it different in some states? Is is EVER "innocent by reason of insanity" is is that a mistake made by the media??

I don't believe "innocent" is ever a legal plea. "Innocence" isn't a matter for the courts, only guilt. And the opposite of "guilty" is "not guilty."

It's not just the media - very common (yet irritating) mistake.

dont worry... when this life is over... The GOOD LORD will drown her ass in the lake of fire for killing those poor innocent children... Her husband too... I cant believe he said, "She finally did it!" What the heck??? I have three boys, and I suffered from Post Partum with my first born, and the baby I have now. The PostPartum with my first born, u do get the feelings to hurt urself. BUT... I would never hurt my kids. I would kill myself before even THINKING about hurting any of my precious little boys. This is just SICK. When I suffered from PPD, I cried all the time, I didnt feel like picking up the baby, it was like... I was here physically, but not mentally... I just didnt feel like picking up the baby... HOWEVER, I did not feel like I wanted to hurt my child. With my last baby, I had PPD, too. I just cried a lot.. that's it... But taking care of him was still a joy even though i was still a little sad, I didnt feel like hurting myself or my child.

Do I believe she should get the death penalty?? My answer to that is... There is no revenge that man can take on each other, because GOD'S vengeance will be even worse than what we could ever do to each other. So, I say let the Lord handle this one, BUT... she AND her husband should serve TRIPLE life sentences in Jail..

Thing is, even when u are depressed, u still know right from wrong.
