The kleptocrats and thugs running most of Africa thank you very much, Bono. As for me, kindly keep your paws out of my American taxpaying wallet.

How about U2 starting it off by donating a few billion themselves?

Special memo to Bono:

Practice what you preach! Contribute at least 50% of YOUR total wealth towards eliminating poverty in Africa - and then maybe we'll talk.

"There's no way we can look at what's happening in Africa and, if we're honest, conclude that, deep down, we would let it happen anywhere else,"

So, Bono, do you advocate sending in troops to throw out the thugs and kleptocrats? Because reform is what's needed, not more money for Swiss bank accounts.

We already give billions, and more. For once, instead of just asking for "more", I'd like one of these people to tell us just how much more would satisfy them. I have a feeling they won't, because they can't.

I saw Bono's rather rambling speech/introduction of the President at this morning's National Prayer Breakfast.

When Bono began to discuss giving and the tithe, then he linked the American economic figures, I was ready for Bono's nutcase connection to another "soak the rich" version of the Democratic/Socialist nonsense.

I was proud of the President, who, when he finally was allowed to the microphone, that the "greatness of America was not in our wealth but in the generosity and kindness of it's people."

...the singer and activist told the annual US national prayer breakfast.

Why was this loser even there...?

I ask Bono to move to Uganda, the Congo, or the Central African Republic and let us never hear from him again. While there, he should feel free to spend as much of his personal fortune as he likes helping the poor. Just don't let us hear from him again.

Consultant Ned heaves a large sack onto the table.

Sir Arthur: Are you suggesting we throw money at the problem?

Consultant Ned: Precisely.

U2 frontman Bono, quoting the Koran, the Bible and rock band Dire Straits,

This is all I need to know about Bono's credibility.

Oh, OK if it says so in the koran than I guess it must be true - oh what's that you say Dire Straits says so in a song? Well then, what more proof do we need?

"U2 frontman Bono, quoting the Koran, the Bible and rock band Dire Straits . . ."

He probably followed that with quotes from the butcher, the baker, and the candle-stick maker, with a closing by KC and the Sunshine Band.

""That's too bad, because we're good at charity," he said. "But justice is a higher standard. Africa makes a fool of our idea of justice it makes a farce of our idea of equality." "

With this statement, Bono submits his challenge to take the title of The Dumbest Human Being Of All Time AND The Most Gutless, Socialist Handwringer In The History of Mankind.

Why doesn't Bono take his message directly to the American people? I read recently that American charities and individuals donate more money internationally than the government does. In fact, I'm pretty sure the figure was 4 to 6 times as much.
