The means to rein in the federal courts already exists. Article III Section 2 of the Constitution grants Congress the power to remove the courts from appellate jurisdiction. Tom Dashole used this clause to ensure that a sweetheart law favoring his lobbyist wife could not be challenged.
Congress can check the courts. Unfortunately it is easier to pass poor or vague law, let the courts sort it out, then blame the courts for activism.

To me, there in lies the problem, Congress is weak and spineless. They should have begun impeachment process when Kelo vs. New London was granted pass. How could anyone not know or care that the Supreme court in this decision disregarded the right to property by the people and then not act to impeach the out of line justices?
