Yesterday was the private swearing in...basically just so he could go ahead and start voting. Today was the ceremonial one.

Alito got choked up a bit while thanking his law clerks during his 15 years on the court of appeals.

He will not relax until after next Wednesday as he has his cardioversion (de fibrillation) then, he is not looking forward to that.

After listening to his remarks, I have to say Alito seems a very humble, direct, polite, good man. No airs, no conceit. Anchored on the right foundation.

He thanked all those who prayed for him and his family during the nomination process and said the prayers were powerful and palpable.

I also missed the speech in Nashville. I had gone to pay some bills and then went shopping at the commisary at Ft. Campbell
