How in the world does one die of dehydration by not going to the bathroom? Call me confused.

They would stop drinking around 3 or 4 in the afternoon and then die in their sleep. According to Karpinski.

According to the story, they were afraid to drink anything after a certain time of day for fear they would have to go during the night. I guess in the Iraq heat that's a bad thing.
