Interesting theory, but as common to you Israel haters, so much horses**t.

Israel's GNP is somewhere near $103B, American aid is approximately 2-3%.

If Israel does what you say because of American aid, it's a continuation of a Hanukkah type miracle.

Give the Jews 3 Billion dollars and they make it work like 103 Billion.

The moral of the story. Give all your money to a Jew to invest.

American aid is probably quite a bit more than the 2-3% that you indicate, when you include things like the "loans" that have never really been paid and the tax exemption for Israel Bonds (a tax exemption that no other nation enjoys). Do an internet search on the Cranston Amendment for some interesting information on the details of these financial arrangments . . . most Americans would love to have that kind of arrangement with the banks that hold their mortgages!

With all the controversy surrounding the alleged U.S. pressure on Israel to abandon Gaza and support elections among the Palestinians, I think it is safe to say that Israel would eliminate every penny of this U.S. aid if it could possibly do so.
