Dear Rlmorel, I was pretty angry when I saw it, too. While many idiots benefit by having small audiences- This cartoonist has the misfortune of having millions see how much of an idiot he is.

I love wearing the uniform and appreciate the recognition by so many FReepers. As I always say: I wouldn't have any other career. Many Army brats understand what it's like to serve, because they also suffer by being sent all over the world, attending DoD schools, not having the Grandparents right around the corner for emergencies, etc. Most Americans have little knowledge of how MUCH sacrifice is made by soldiers and their families even when we're not at war.

As another poster said, your anger could be better used elsewhere. Simply remind all your friends to not read that paper. I do- every day I remind other soldiers of anti-military actors/writers/musicians/media and that they should think about that before supporting any of these people with the money they earned by putting their lives on the line.

Have a great evening.

Thanks...I appreciate your post, and your service.

As for my anger being used elsewhere...I am a multitasking anger management machine...plenty to go around (if needed)...:)

Kind of reminds me of a great line from the movie "Open Range", where Robert Duvall makes a toast and says "Here's to good health, to them that has it comin'." (great movie, by the way, even if I can't stand Kevin Costner, I guess he's only decent in Westerns...)

I am a very happy person, believe me. I have a lot of love and appreciation for a lot of things, but boy, I sure can get hot tempered about things like this. I always appreciate someone who says (In the words of our POW's in Vietnam) "Keep a Steady Strain..."
