I too was taught that policemen were my friends like kind old
"Officer O'Hara".

Now I see black-fatigued combat-booted behemoths with
black death's skull baseball caps and body armor.

Now I see steroid pumped and speedball amped thugs proud
of the way their raw power can bend citizens to their will.

That's not a pleasant image.

Well, I'm a bit disgusted right now. For all the talk of "freedom", and "liberty", and "the rule of law", I am reminded that our ancestors fought and died for it. And they didn't fight in Britain, or in Iraq, or in Viet Nam, or any other two bit illiterate dictatorship.

They did it right here.

life imitating tv....i miss the old wheelgun cowboy style cops we used to have down here

laid back but serious....a crack shots

where I grew up, you always knew not to mess with the Highway Patrol or Game Wardens
