In the court (and courts) of life and death, a little 11-year-old Massachusetts girl named Haleigh Poutre could be the next Terri Schiavo. For those who have not heard the tragic story, Haleigh was beaten nearly to death last September, allegedly by her adoptive mother and stepfather. The beating left her unconscious and barely clinging to life.
Within a week or so of the beating, her doctors had written her off. They apparently told Haleigh's court-appointed guardian, Harry Spence, that she was "virtually brain dead." Even though he had never visited her, Spence quickly went to court seeking permission to remove her respirator and feeding tube. The court agreed, a decision affirmed recently by the supreme court of Massachusetts.
And so, no doubt with the best of intentions, a little girl who had already suffered so much was stripped by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of even the chance to fight to stay alive. If she didn't stop breathing when the respirator was removed, which doctors expected, she would slowly dehydrate to death.
Close Call
Then came the unexpected:

An advocacy group for foster children has filed a complaint with the state Board of Bar Overseers against the chief lawyer for the Department of Social Services, accusing her of improper conduct in the end-of-life case involving Haleigh Poutre.
Susan Molina, executive director of the Yellow Ribbon Kids Club, said yesterday that she filed a complaint against DSS lawyer Virginia Peel, saying Peel had not told the Supreme Judicial Court that Haleigh, 11, was starting to breathe on her own and was showing increased responsiveness.

When Michael Schiavo announced the formation of TerriPAC, a national political committee, he said that he wanted to hold politicians accountable by spending the financial resources of others and he began actively campaigning for donations.
However, according to the Federal Elections Commission, it's Michael Schiavo who needs to be held accountable.

ROTF @ Q 2! I'll go with C!
I understood exactly what 8mm was saying. If you're gonna die, make it quick. Personally, I would rather go by 9mm straight through the head, by someone who knows what they're doing, than a shotgun blast. Too messy.
My bad! Yes, accident victims who are healthy, are prime candidates for organ transplant. If they choose to be donors, God bless them. There have been some articles posted here about the dark side of transplants, though. Seems like someone's been raiding morgues, and the recipients are getting sick.
I love a good spoof ;-D Those who choose to Klown around, must be passing the Mylanta amongst themselves by now....
Wealth TV? I've never heard of it, but we have 125 channels, so maybe we have it. I'll look into it.
This is awesome!
Thanks. To misunderstand what I meant takes a desire to misunderstand and to intentionally use it as a basis for attack.
Some only see an opportunity for attack, not for a contribution to discussion.
You are right on the "messy" part, LOL.
Some people call people they hate haters and clowns call people they oppose, clowns. Projection and all that.
The website has my provider listed. Thanks BB, I'll look it up, after I'm done checking out all the wildfires on the local station.
The channel sounds like something I'd be interested in.
Another voice for rationality (plus a sense of humor).
Carlie's mom sunk into drugs and prostitution. They arrested her in St. Pete at the Macdill Fed. Cr. Union Bldg. She's lost since Carlie's murder.
He needs to remember to put Preparation H on those baggy eyes and he'll attract the ladies who are attracted to his ilk.
does wealthtv have a web site?
Judge Greer defined accountability at a recent spkg engagement. It was so bad it's worse than Clinton's definition of the word "is". At least Bubba was artful. Greer is a sniveling incompetent despot. There's nothing artful about Greer's defense of himself.
Jan. 9th, Broward Bar Assn.
Look at it from that perspective. Bigger bucks kept him on course.
The sick thing is that to kill Terri, elements of the republican party joined forces with the ACLU.
That element of the GOP is dividing the party.
Can't have a pro-life platform and then KILL DISABLED PEOPLE.
Their anti-Mikey Pac Pac has a name too, but the name escapes me.
OBJECTIVE OF THE ANTI-MIKEY PAC: They are going to SUPPORT all the politicians who Mikey's PAC is going to attack.
Take that serial husbands everywhere.
(It's time for an application of trollbegone.)

You've got a good memory! The choke hold theory is problematic, only because there weren't visible bruises. That doesn't mean it couldn't have happened. If you do it right, it doesn't leave visible bruising. Cops know how to do it right.
Her bone scan should have gotten MS hauled in for questioning, at the least. Reading the report made me sick, because she went through hell. She did not get those injuries from an ATV(?) accident, jaywalking with a bike, or a car accident. I'm just recounting all the broken bones my kids have suffered over the years. No, this was caused by being beaten. Anyone who has been abused and ignored by the system should be made aware that medical reports aren't always vindication against your abuser.
Those spinal injuries could very well have been made by someone's knees pinning her down. I always keep in mind that MS is an adulterer, and someone else could have done this to her on his behalf. MS however, did not want Terri to ever be able to talk about it. Imo, that is why he went to such lengths to have her deprived of any meaningful therapy, and ultimately killed.
Way too messy. Our buddy is apparently a trollster. That's okay, we're used to it by now, and this one is rather amusing. Notice how they post comments out of context, notably the "pillow and shotgun" remarks.
