That's an improvement. last night the left had this all at Ds.
DESPITE the CNN/Gallup poll showing that 75% of people polled supported the president and thought it was a good speech.
The left lies. Don't expect the MSM ever to call them out for DUping the public the way that MSNBC-Newsweek threw a hissy fit when FReeping was exposed as the reason a poll didn't go "the right way".

What grade would you give Pres. Bush's State of the Union address? To be honest, I'd give him a D.
It was poor.
Even the regrettable Bill Kristol was gray and subdued over the performance.
Little or nothing on the IRS and tax cuts........... the speech was nearly awful. I thought Clinton was talking.
Bush just went through the motions. The only thing that would have saved the night was if the guard had tossed Straitjacket Cindy over the railing.

Poor Bush had to chose between apologizing for the mishandling of Katrina and the mishandling of the Medicare Drug Company Assistance Plan, so the Katrina apology took up too much of his time. Or was it the apology for the mess he made of Iraq that took all of the time? Or was it apologizing for his illegal spying upon American citizens by wiretapping phone conversations without a warrant?
Or was it apologizing for trying to phase out Social Security and failing? GW called the expense of SS a "problem" even though the system is in a $156,300,000,000 yearly surplus the last time I checked SSA's website. If this is a "problem" then what does he consider the rest of his budget?
No wonder the country is suffering from severe malaise now.

While I didn't actually hear the speech last night, I did read it today -- pretty good. Of course, I won't go to CNN, but I'd give it an A.

I'd give the Address a B, and the speech a D.
President Bush is one of the least talented public speakers among presidents in memory. He generally hits an annoying cadence with his speaking voice that tempts me to tune him out. I fight against that temptation, but it's still annoying.
I can usually get past that to hear the words that are being said, and generally, the words, the sentences, the concepts, are very good. But his speechifying isn't.
Anyway, that's my opinion, and I expect to be flamed for it. I doubt that I'll respond to those flaming replies.

He made it even more clear last night that his concerns are on a global level, and not domestic. His comments on illegal immigration says it all. We are headed toward an open border policy and there is nothing that will stand in his way. I will vote Democrat next election if that is what it takes to seal our border.

A+ for President Bush. A conversational presentation of the world as it is and as America is affected by those realities. The RATS and their cheering for the failure of the congress to reform Social Security should have told the American audience all they need to know about the essence of the RAT party. Their only accomplishment this past year that cheered them was obstruction of reform for an entitlement program that will financilly affect all of Americans in the near future. The RAT party has once again shown that they are a self centered, juvenile thinking and acting, stuck on stupid, sorry lot who refuse to grow up. The RAT response to the President's speech was plain pitiful. But what is it they can say anyway with their mindset of 'anything you can do, we can do better'? No plans of their own. No concrete alternatives, no apparent intelligent leadership who thinks America first and party second. A good day to be a Republican.

Normally I would of gave it maybe a B+, but after tuning in Air America last night before going to bed (just to see what they were saying), and hearing how angry and upset they were, I was most delighted. Some callers were calling for an armed insurrection. Only Bush could get these lefties that angry.
