They missed one point. John Dewey didn't think it was important to teach reading to kids. A child's socialization skills were considered by Dewey to be much more important to society, and it's still the primary argument used against homeschoolers.

Socialization should be the primary argument used against government schools. It is the primary reason why we homeschooled our children.
Isn't it time we throw this back in the face of government schools defenders? Shouldn't we be pointedly asking them, "Just why are you doing this to your children?"
