They've been posted several times on various earlier threads.
The French have done something very right, and they've done it in style.
Now I want an American paper to do the same.
Every newspaper in the world should publish these
(just as authors went around wearing T-shirts that said, 'I am Rushdie' when that author was condemned to death in a fatwa).
But the newspapers will probably only be interested if there is an angle by which they can bash Bush.
Don't count on it.
We've become very squeamish when trying to go non-PC.
The Euros are sometimes capable of going that way, just like the Danes and French have shown us.
But over here, we've become so sensitive, if a newspaper published these cartoons, the sacred cows of printed journalism (NYT, WP and LAT) would chastise that publication to kingdom come.
Sad truth, but it is the truth.
