Are you sure you spelled "maime" correctly? Otherwise it's something like "very of 'maime'", but I can't find maime in my dictionary.

By the way, here's a great site for translating things into a bunch of languages (it doesn't recognize 'maime' either (it's not always super-accurate), but then Poirot was early 1900's right, maybe the word is out of use?)
