Haven't they learned that they will be fired upon if they are asked to stop and they don't stop?

I could try and run a military check point at one of the base gates here in Hawaii and get fired on.
Or I could fly all the way to Iraq and drive for the Canadian consular.

Great, nine months of "Fascist USA whaaaaa!" whining opeds from our frozen neighbors to the north.
If the reverse happened, the Canadian shooters would be puree, and we'd say "Eh, forget it, we've got more important things to deal with."

What the hell are Canadians doing in Iraq anyway? Or what are they doing in our green zone if they refused to join the fight? OK., so, I'm not saying that we should be shooting at them. Our Canadian brothers and sisters are holding the line in Afghanistan. Anyway, whatever. I have no idea what I'm trying to say.

Maybe the soldiers overheard the passengers talking on listening devices and thought the "Eh's" sounded like "Allah Akbar!"

Reads like the minimal amount of force was used; the story also lacks a reason why the driver failed to yield. Note to generals in the area: put sticky notes on Canadian cars - when guys with American flags on their shoulders say stop, they mean it.

Everyone relax nobody told the troops that Harper won in Canada. I am sure they have been told and will not fire on them again ;)
