I sure pray Cheney is well enough and wants to stay on. He's been superb .. priceless. I just don't see Frist in that role.

have to leave as soon as the speech starts because the TV is in the living room and I miss too much dashing between two rooms. I have the same problem. Too bad they haven't patented that ElastiGirl thing yet.

I was more or less out of the news loop for most of the day, able only to catch a glimpse here and there of the momentous happenings (taped the SOTU though, knew Mrs. King died, and Alito was sworn in).
When I saw the camera settle on Justice Alito before the SOTU, and saw him standing there in his official USSC Justice robe, I was overcome with emotion. I got choked up and teary. I know this man is going to do us GOOD, and felt a profound sense of relief, and thanksgiving to God and to all who prayed this man past the Senate obstructionists. The tide has turned in America and we are headed back to our roots, a respect for life, a culture of life, and letting God sit on His throne as Chief Judge, Lawgiver, and King. Of course, not all will bow to that, but we as a nation are headed back to it.
To God be the glory; great things He has done.

Hi Jonny, you said early on the thread that you were HERE, you were ALERT, and you were SOBER, with no promises on how long any of that would last. I note your M&M photo at post 454 (a considerable way into the thread, and the evening) is a bit out of focus. .... ...........

They were suckered into that, and then slapped down hard for their irresponsibility.
That was beautiful wasn't it? LOL There's egg dripping from their faces :)They NEVER learn! He does it to them alla time. Someone should alert them that when he says something they're not going to like, he's had the foresight to prepare follow-on remarks that will make them look like doofuses for applauding their opposition to his programs.

Someone should alert them ... Naaawww. That would end all the fun. They are too stuck on stupid to listen and heed the warning anyway.

President Bush is the most clear thinking President since Ronald Reagan or Abraham Lincoln.
GWB does not involve himself in popularity Polls nor does he subscribe to their Radical agenda!
We are winning this Battle and that is all that needs to be said :-)

I'm afraid the rumor about Frist is true because the trip to Tenn. was sort of strange. I wonder if we should bombard the White House with e-mails begging him not to do that. Frist is not who we want as Pres. and being VP will put him in the race as front runner. I do not think he is pres. material.

There have been rumors for YEARS that Cheney was going to step down. Since he agreed to run in 2001, basically. Remember all during the convention in 2004, they kept saying that he was going to step aside? Cheney's not going anywhere. The day after the SOTU, the President always goes somewhere to reiterate his message. The fact that he picked Tennessee means nothing.

It occurs to me that every time Fred Barnes is on one of these panels with Bill Kristol, his response is muted. And then I remembered that Bill Kristol is Fred Barnes BOSS, and therefore has too much influence on the panel when Barnes is on it with him.
Fox should not have them on the same panel.

I gave in and turned the television on last night to hear some of the commentary and thought that Chris Wallace was quite positive about both the lunch and the president's agenda and think you accurately captured his comments.

Hi, Gretchen :)
Sorry I missed you last night. Great address, wasn't it? And this was a great thread. I enjoyed being here more than on the live thread.
Hope you're doing well.

It isn't so. It was a hit and run rumor, not worth a moment's aggravation.
