Jan 31 2006 3:13PM Hamas should disarm to work in parliament - Lavrov

LONDON. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Russia is in favor of the Hamas movement's full disarmament and believes that it should work in the parliament only if this is completed.

"We are sure that only unarmed groups not involved in military actions should work in the parliament," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told journalists in London.

"We believe that the wider picture should be seen while searching for a settlement in the Middle East and Hamas reflects the situation of the settlement," Lavrov said.

He said he does not exclude the possibility of having contact with Hamas and expressed his hope that a government would be formed and that the parliament will begin to work in two or three months.

If you are not in Putin's cheer squad, you are a usual suspect. Nice. Have you read Putin's interview where he said that Russia does not rate Hamas as a terrorist organization. And stop sticking labels on the people who do not agree with your point of view, it's childish.

Time will tell. I sure that Russia will refuse aid to an armed Hamas. If Russia doesn't, well, they support terrorists.

Mi-kha-el, care to add the rest of what Putin said about Hamas? Or would that not support your argument. Only portraying a small portion of what he actually said about Hamas is dishonest. I actually watched his press conference and read the transcript. Much different than what's being published in the MSM. Why would that be?

They do not dismiss out of hand the elected government however they ahve said they will not aid them if they remain an armed group.

If I selectively cut and paste what Bush says and remove anything that doesn't paint him as a terrorist he will look like one as well, why do you think Farenheit 911 was so popular?

"Treachery: How America's Friends and Foes are Secretly Arming Our Enemies", by Bill Gertz is also an interesting book. This well respected reporter says that 11 million arms (over 100 different types) were sold to Iraq by Russia before the war. THese weapons killed our troops.

"Light water reactors, like we sold Korea, which cannot make weaponized substances."

The waste can be processed to weapons grade

http://www.worldtribune.com/worldtribune/WTARC/2002/eu_russia_05_24.html

Maxim Shingarkin, a leading Russian nuclear expert, told a Moscow seminar on May 20 that Iran has been sold a Russian nuclear reactor that can be used to produce weapons-grade plutonium. Iran has bought the VVR-1000 nuclear reactor for the Bushehr facility in an $800 million deal and operations are expected to begin by 2005, Middle East Newsline reported..

"The reactor is a source of neutrons," Shingarkin said. "I tell you that any VVR-1000 reactor can be used to produce — without authorization and without the IAEA specialists knowing it — weapons-grade plutonium. There are no engineering or technical complexities and the task is realistic."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4301889.stm

Under the deal Iran has to return spent nuclear fuel rods from the reactor, which was designed and built by Russia.

The clause is a safeguard meant to banish fears that Iran might misuse the rods to build nuclear weapons, a concern of the US, Israel and others.

(Do YOU trust Iran to return the rods???)

Islamocommiefascists want a New World Order that doesn't include any America that we can tolerate, I'm afraid.

And old Vlad is one of them. The enemy that is.
