Hoorah 58 Is A Beautiful Number
It is now official. Justice Samuel Alito has been confirmed with a vote of 58 - 42. Gee, I wonder if the President will mention this vote tonight.
There will be a ceremony Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the White House.
Polipundit and I are suggesting all those wishing to make it known how much you appreciate the confirmation of Justice Alito to contribute to the RNC to help elect more Republicans to the Congress. You might even want to tack on an extra 58 cents to your contribution (for each of the votes in favor of confirmation) to make the point. 58 is a beautiful number. It is truly time for thanks and celebration.
Update: Blogs for Bush is asking readers to thank the GOP.
Think this is a great idea. Please visit Polipundit.com as they have some great articles and are part of the front lines of communication to elect more Republicans to Congress!
Teh Dems said they wanted 60 votes or less. I guess they got that. But they still lose!

Donate to the RNC and they'll use part of your contribution to pad their pockets and part of it to reelect incumbent RINOS.
Is this really what you want?
I suggest giving directly to the candidates that most closely reflect your political views.
Bump and a PING to my buddy!
Ms.B
"I suggest giving directly to the candidates that most closely reflect your political views."
I used to think that, but under Reagan came to realize the strength of my vote is largely it's collective size. I pray that the Democrat party so splinters that they start voting as you recommend, while Conservatives continue to fight for dominance within the most powerful political structure in America.
>> a vote of 58 - 42
Someone should point out to the DU crowd that the Dems had enough votes to sustain a filibuster. :)
Yes indeed, THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH and the RNC -- I've already sent my congratulatory e-mail to the former and my contribution to the latter!
A win is a win, big or small who in the hell actually cares.
I don't care if he was elected by a single vote, even if the vote was 51 / 50 because the VP cast his vote.
Justice Thomas was 52 / 48 ?.
Today the President scored BIG,
looking forward to part two, scene one this evening...
State of this (GREAT) Nation.
Nice idea...I gave last week when I knew it was a done deal and showed my appreciation for all of their outspoken support...except Chaffee...what are we going to do with that _____? Bring on another vacancy...

Sorry, I misspoke...gave to the Republican National Senatorial Committee but it's all for the good of our elections.
However, I won't be making any donations to the GOP this election year. They don't deserve my finanical support. I'll vote for my guy Cong Joel Hefley, but no cash from me this time around. The GOP has to be sent a strong message. At least twice a month I get a call from the GOP asking for more cash. Last night I finally told them why they'll get no more donations from this conservative. Unless Bush and the GOP reduces spending, limits govt and addresses the immigration reform issue, they can KMA.
So the clowns with the perpetual income did something right and I'm supposed to reward them?
Not a penny.
This isn't a hollyweirdo awards ceremony, although it does resemble a corrupt dog and pony show.
These are our elected officials doing what they were elected to do. If the only time they will follow through on their campaign promises is when we cough up extra cash for them to play with, then the system is broken.
I'll donate to indivdual campaigns so I don't have to grease their palm everytime they do their job.
Or are we fueling the corruption because we're all playing mini-Abramoffs??
I am a conservative first and foremost. Party affiliation be damned.
Being from SC, if there was a way to get Zell Miller to run against Lindsee Graham, I'd donate to Zell and work like Hell to get him elected. Because, IMHO, Zell is more of a conservative than Graham. Zell's view of the world is much closer to mine than Graham's.
