As long as these clowns keep supporting squid like Lincoln Chafee, my money goes directly to the senators I choose to support.
Since I live the California, that's the only way I get any representation out of the Senate, anyway.
To: mosquitobite
chafee seemed to suggest the only thing that mattered was ideology. He said, "I am pro-choice."
Pathetic. Get rid of him now!!!!

I can accept the NRSC supporting Chafee, who did oppose the filibuster. But what's unappcetable is their negative ads against Stephen Laffey.

E-mail sent:
"In light of Sen. Chafee's "no" vote on Samuel Alito, I ask that the NRSC support Mr. Chafee's opponent, Steve Laffey, in the Republican primaries.
I have been a regular donor to the Republican Party and Republican candidates, but will no longer continue to contribute money to a party that endorses candidates whose ideals and interests are not the same as mine or other members of the Republican party."

Chafee has forced me to support Laffey.
I will call local radio and spread the word.
I sent a few bucks. May send more.
Will probably volunteer later on.
Chafee has got to go.
It is a RhodeIslandism that Laffey will get trounced by any dem, but the important thing is to remove Chafee.
I will vote for,and maybe even donate to the Dem, if Chafee gets that far.
Chafee has got to go.
To: mosquitobite
What a wonderful idea. Beat Chafee in the primary with a real conservative and then have him go down in flames in the general election. Does this genius think anyone to the right of Chafee can win in Rhode Island? Chafee may not be much, but better than a Dem that is never with us.

Done.
I doubt it will do any good.
But any organization that might use my money to support Sen Chafee will ever get a penny from me.

Coincidentally, I just got a mailing from the NRC (not the NRSC). I wrote on it "No money for you means no money for Chafee". It's going out in today's mail.
I did put a stamp on it. I can only be so mean.

I have said this before but I truly believe that if Chafee is still in the Senate 10 years from now he will not be a Republican he will either be a Jeffords style Independent, or an outright Democrat.
To: Oldhunk
Mr. Hunk, you are an enabler.

I don't know the exact situation in R.I. but I have a hunch the Pubbies are merely being pragmatic. It's a Republican seat, first and foremost, and Chaffee probably has to do nip-ups to appease his liberal base in that state which is no doubt virulently pro-abortion. Otherwise we hand the seat to a Rat. I'm certain Chaffee would come under intense pressure from Pubbie colleagues in a close vote on an important matter. It's very important to maintain a Pubbie majority!
