I just heard on the news that Mrs. Coretta King has died. Just my personal opinion, but she was a dignified, classy woman who served her country and her late husband's memory quite well.
May she rest in peace.
Sure you can Watie. As a Christian myself, let me be the first to assure that you can be a Christian and be wrong about absolutely anything.

He lied alot
Thanks for clearing up what had been a long-standing rap on Coretta here in Atlanta and commented upon by Boortz from time to time.
That was the repeated stories that whenever, for example, she travelled by commercial air carrier, crew and those on board around her were sternly warned to not disturb or talk to her, not even make eye-contact with her.
From your post, it's likely that such warnings were issued by here overzealous "handlers."
These may also be the same folks -- along with one or two of the King kids -- who practically ran the King Center into bankruptcy.
Glad you cleared that up.
May she rest in a well-deserved peace.
Simple. You naively buy into the OTHER trappings of communism (see socialism) with little or no understanding.
I congratulate you, cyborg, on both your wedding and the man wallking you down the aisle! May your husband be just as fine a gentleman as stand watie, bless him..
fwiw, to quote an old grad prof of mine, "Things are simple only to simpletons".
i get REALLY tired of explaining that SOME things which "are accepted as fact by many" are just plain FALSE.
the idea that MLK was a socialist/communist or "fellow traveler" is DUMB, in the 1st degree.
as i've said, i KNEW "Preacher King" (long ago) & he was NONE of those things. SORRY, but that's FACT!

Mrs. King served her country, the world and humanity by reminding us all that even with the shameful knowledge of possible infidelities by your husband and infidelities by your government and having your soul/helpmate stolen from you violently by a person and a country that were grappling with the shame of past behaviors...it is still possible to love and see the beauty in all of God's creations....because even James Earl Ray was made in the image of God...as was J Edgar Hoover, the Kennedy brothers, Jesse Helms, George Wallace, Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Sirhan Sirhan...we can rise and be better than what surrounds us...
Uh...HUH. Yup - copyrighting her old man's every word, breath, and f#rt really helped evidence "the beauty in all of God's creations", right along with her denouncing the war in Iraq, sticking up for her murderin' black panther buddy Rap Brown, and building a pretty good business out of Marty's getting shot-up.
Maybe she was a favorite celebrity of yours; but I'd use other words.
you have fun at the wedding, sw, and don't let negative stuff get you down. and stay away from the WBTS threads for a few days, just to get your blood pressure down, ok??
love ya,
