IIRC, that's based on the supposed "night journey" that took The Prophet
to Jerusalem (a city he, in reality, never visited). It's part of the
pretext for taking/holding Jerusalem at all costs.
And it doesn't matter if you make a respectful movie that doesn't show
the face of The Prophet...as witnessed by the hostage situation
when the movie "The Message" was released.
Ironies of ironies...the maker of that film was killed last year in the
suicide bombings in Amman, Jordan:
