Now that the Alito filibuster has collapsed, the anger -- anger at Democrats, that is -- is boiling over at the DailyKos. One diatribe from one of the site's "recommended diaries":

What I want is a complete list of every scumsucking f--kstick Democratic a--hole senator who voted for cloture. That's what I want.

I don't know what to DO with that list, not yet -- but I know for G--DAMNED sure I won't be VOTING for any of them, let alone sending them any g--damned MONEY.

Frankly, right now I'd like nothing better than to torpedo the entire lot of them. Just dump them like so much worthless, leaden, VICHY MOTHERF--KING BALLAST.

I got nothin', folks. Don't look over here if you want comfort or a nice, uplifting LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY speech.

but I like the impact on voters when the dims lean so far left.

CW has been 2 to 15 seat pickup in the house and 0 to 6 seat pickup in the Senate for the dims.

I've been almost exactly 180 degrees the other way, with the same kind of numbers, but pickup for the Republicans. I've been expecting exactly this type of moonbattery to become more and more evident.

And no matter how in the can the old dinosaur media is for the leftists they can't resist this type of stuff. It's just too good. They'll try to minimize the damage, but they can't avoid showing the clips of Teddy K melting down on the Senate floor today. It's just too juicy.

But the elections are a long way off. If the Super Bowl or some other high profile event is attacked, particularly in a major way, and then we find out that lax border enforcement made it possible, watch out.

Actually if the Dems implode, that makes the life expectancy of the Rabidly Incompetent Nasty Opportunists short. The ONLY reason someone like Chaffe or Hagel survives in the Party is the Establishment was so long in the Minority they are desperately afraid to lose even one seat. Even now the usual suspspects will come break out into hysteric if you suggest supporting a primary challenge to some one like Specter or Chaffe. Without a serious outside challenge to the Majority it becomes a LOT easier for the Party to crack whips over the backs of the elected Pols.

Same here. Last night I finally got around to viewing the History Channel's "Unclassified" on Lindbergh. His "America First" group actually had the opposite effect he (and they) intended during WWII, especially after Pearl Harbor. I'm hoping most of the USA will react in the same way to these loonies.

I understand your concern about it being important that we have two healthy, opposing parties for our Democracy to run smoothly. It troubles me, as well.

But they're just such total lunatics, I have a hard time rooting for anything other than their total demise, while praying for another Reagan on horseback to come over the hill for our side.

to defeat Bush's SCOTUS nominees (if Ginsberg or Stevens depart)

and to begin impeachment "exercises."
