Hamas impossible partner for peace: Bush

WASHINGTON: US President George W. Bush on Monday said it will be "impossible" to work with Hamas as a partner in the Middle East peace process.

"They've got parts of their platform that will make it impossible to be a peaceful partner," Bush said after a cabinet meeting at the White House, referring to Hamas' refusal to accept Israel's right to exist.

Hamas, which prevailed in Palestinian elections last week, is designated a terrorist organisation by the US. After the Hamas victory, the US government said it would review all of its financial aid to Palestinians.

Under US laws, the government is prohibited from funding groups blacklisted as terrorist organisations.

It's hard to tell. Seems like they are making contradictory statements every five or ten minutes. They won't support Hamas, but they will support the Palestinian government.

We'll know what they've really decided when we see whether the money keeps flowing. I think it will.

I hope we stand firm on this. The international press already clamours for donor countries to cooperate with Hamas even as Hamas denounces what it calls "donor blackmail".

Even Republican Senator Chuck Hegal has argued in favour of a rapprochement with Hamas. Ok, ok, so Hegal's a weak-knee'd RINO with neither a brain nor a spine, but even so. The US press will glom onto him like a bad rash as evidence of division in Republican ranks etc.

I hope you're wrong but I fear that you're right. Spectator.org in an article titled "His Deranged Values" reports that former president carter has called on the US to fund the newly constituted Hamas PA through NGOs and the UN, which amounts to a US head of state advocating breaking US law to fund a terrorist organization.

One more suicide attack on Israel is enough for Palestine to have performed an "act of war" on Israel, in the leftist's eyes, as if to say the previous myriad suicide bombings weren't acts of war.

Methinks Hamas will split to form a separate unit to continue its suicide bombings, under a different banner. This is a common practice in Islamic terror groups, and has been mastered by Pakistan-based terrorists.

Dear President Bush:

I'm writing to let you in on a little secret. Actually it's not a secret, it's just something that your advisers, Rice, your Dad, State, the CIA, and our good friends in Europe and at the UN don't tell you.

The aims of Fatah, Abbas and Hamas vis a vis Israel are identical. Fatah is no less a terrorist group then Hamas.

Only Hamas has the religious fervor and confidence to put their aims down on paper.

By the way, when Bandar Bush tries to convince you that Hamas are really no different then the Saudis--that's a bad thing.

Sincerely
