30 January 2006: Zawahiri: alive and making threats!
A new video taped message from Al Qaeda second in command Dr. Ayman Al Zawahiri released on Al Jazeera TV indicates that the terror leader was NOT killed in the US air strike on Damdoula.
The portions of the tape which have been released to date do not mention the HAMAS victory in Palestine. This omission indicates that the tape was probably made before last week's elections which brought the Islamist terror group to power in Gaza.
This videotape directly references the Bin Laden audio message of eleven days ago.
Zawahiri states:
The lion of Islam, our Sheikh Osama bin Laden, may Allah protect him, have given you an honorable way out of this problem, but your leaders who are only interested in getting richer, are determined to take you into battle, kill your sons in Iraq and Afghanistan and, inshallah (Allah willing) in your own lands.
This quote appears to reference Bin Laden's offer to consider a truce should we propose one.
It appears that Zawahiri is making clear that in accordance with Islamic law, we have been warned and have been given an opportunity to "change our ways", and have refused.
Under the brand of Islamic law that Zawahiri practices, Al Qaeda has now met all of its obligations. It will very likely proceed with an attack.
The day, time, and method of attack are of their chosing; but it is obvious that it is their declared intent to attack the United States once again in our homeland.
