Al Qaeda's Ayman al-Zawahiri, in videotape on Al-Jazeera, says U.S. airstrike against him in Pakistan failed.

Thanks!
Did Zawahiri actually use the date "January 13"? I've long thought that he and bin Ladin videotaped these long ago just in case an airstrike DOES get them.
It is authenticated. He is alive. There has been a power shift though.
Did he recite more poetry in this one? Maybe his muse has abandoned him now that he can't lose himself in Osama's eyes.
It is suspicious, but I just saw a transcript where he clearly refers to the Pakistani village of Damadola and the fact that 18 were killed in the attack. While it cannot yet be confirmed when the video was made, it now seems to have been after the attack - he also mentions the "truce" offered by bin Laden being rejected by the United States.
Who authenticated the tape? And where's the transcript?
Why do you think "power shift"?
CIA has authenticated - I have a hard copy of the transcript but it is not online yet.
I'm thinking NBC
Poor Ayman......After 9/11 we got his wife and kids, and now he gets married again, and we knock off his new son-in-law. No wonder he has his turban in a bundle. He must be wondering who ratted him out and how close he was to being sent to Allah to see his kin.
But we whacked a bunch of friends in that strike, that's why the cyclops waited a few weeks to stick his head of his hole. There's a Hellfire missile with his name on it and dead-man-walking knows it.
When the transcript is posted, it should make it clearer. Ayman stated where he is. Clearly. And he is agitated, indicated by his specific hand gestures. "In the middle of the Muslim masses" or "among the Muslim masses". Very similar, yet with distinct meanings.
Sounds like he is aiming for Iraq
Time to target the Muslim masses, as well
I took that as trying to throw us off his trail - trying to get us to think twice about hitting him in a Muslim crowd.
It's harder to avoid collateral damage in Karachi.
