I think it helps Bush.

Shows the need for real security measures.

So we'll blow his ass up next time, relax. Picture all the ghostly corpses of his evil comrades blown to hell. We missed him, this time, but I bet a lot of his friends were blown to bits in those houses, and he knows it.

at least now we know about how long it takes a tape to make it via courier from the tribal regions to Al Jazeera.

Somebody close to him gave him up, and he knows it. In fact maybe he gave the people at that dinner up. We didn't spot these guys driving around, there are plenty among him telling us where to drop the bombs. If he's not the informant himself, they'll be scraping his remains up for dna testing soon enough. He's a dead man.

"Heck, they're no more anti-American than CNN. CNN is just more
polished about it."

While it's shocked me, that's my impression as well.
The material that I've looked at on their online archive (e.g.,
history of Hamas) does read like a CNN report.

Read the book on that:

Unholy Alliance : Radical Islam and the American Left

And a very good review:

*********************************

Vastly Illuminating, September 25, 2004

Reviewer: Kat Bakhu (Albuquerque, NM United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.

It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.

Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.

This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air.

FROM YAHOO:

CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri said in a videotape aired Monday that President Bush was a "butcher" and a "failure" because of a deadly U.S. airstrike in Pakistan targeting the bin Laden deputy.

Al-Zawahri, shown in the video wearing white robes and a white turban, said a Jan. 13 airstrike in the eastern village of Damadola killed "innocents," and he said the United States had ignored an offer from al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden for a truce.

"Butcher of Washington, you are not only defeated and a liar, but also a failure. You are a curse on your own nation," he said, referring to Bush. "Bush, do you know where I am? I am among the Muslim masses."

The airstrike hit a building in Damadola, killing four al-Qaida leaders. Thirteen villagers also were killed in the strike, angering many Pakistanis.

The video was Zawahri's first appearance since the airstrike.

"My second message is to the American people, who are drowning in illusions. I tell you that Bush and his gang are shedding your blood and wasting your money in frustrated adventures," he said, speaking in a forceful and angry voice.

"The lion of Islam, Sheik Osama bin Laden, may God protect him, offered you a decent exit from your dilemma. But your leaders, who are keen to accumulate wealth, insist on throwing you in battles and killing your souls in Iraq and Afghanistan and — God willing — on your own land."

The video came in the wake of a Jan. 19 audiotape by bin Laden in which he warned that al-Qaida is preparing attacks in the United States but offered a truce "with fair conditions" to build Iraq and Afghanistan.

The tape — aired on Al-Jazeera — was the first message from bin Laden in more than a year.

This is the correct outlook to take on this - The reality is that this latest reported *hit* in the Pak border region took out a number of valued al Qeade leadership -

The tone from this newest Zawahiri video speaks volumes to me. Much more agitated and angry.

We need to continue with these type Operations and even become more aggressive in our tactics to take these guys out.
