*PING!* Members of a violent international gang working for drug cartels in Central and South America are planning coordinated attacks along the U.S. border with Mexico, according to a Department of Homeland Security document obtained by the Daily Bulletin.
Gee, now what might prevent these attacks...and where might we find an example of this prevention?
Oh yeah, now I remember,....Travis, would you do the honors?

It's only a matter of time before the US takes real action. Unfortunately, it won't happen until multiple BP agents are killed.
Then the politicians will say, "How did this happen?"

Our government and especially the huge beaucracies of the DEA and boarder patrol change slowly. However, they are changing.
The smugglers aren't up in arms because the boarder is wide open, and they aren't facing opposition.
The corrupt Mexican government isn't getting upset because we are inviting their citizens in to illegally live or work in the US.
The American people is putting serious pressure on our government over illegal immigration and border security, and it is having an effect.
Smugglers are taking more risks, and either traveling in larger armed parties, or actively employing corrupt Mexican military units.
While it's bad news that our law enforcement officers have to face such threats, it does show that pressure is being applied and that it is helping.
There's still a long way to go, and we need to keep the pressure on our representatives, but it does look like the message is getting through.

"After enough members have been pre-positioned along the border, a coordinated attack using firearms was to commence against all law enforcement, to include Border Patrol," the alert states. "
Sure that's reaaly going to help their smuggling efforts ( unless of course they are planning to use that as a distraction while they bring them over at some other place )

If the Federal government forbids the use of the National Guard, which they may not, is it time to arm the Texas State Guard (Air and Army) and put them on the border? Wouldn't even have to buy the guns, just let them bring their own.

Here's the scenario:
- Mexicans are the largest minority group in the United States.
- Mexican families are very tight. Everyone knows everyone else and will fight to protect them.
- The Mexican Gov't could care less about our border.
- MS-13 takes over the border at some of the larger towns.
- The Mexican Gov't won't fight them. They'll probably retreat and let the gangs have the Mexican side.
- The police will not be able to get near the border because all of the Mexican neighborhoods will become fortified allowing no authority inside.
- Once the fighting starts... all hell is gonna break loose all over America with Mexicans and Latinos rioting in the streets.
- The economic hit will be devastating in the Western States. Looting will be wide spread. There will be folks dropping out of the Military and Police Forces left and right to help "La familia y Mi Gente.".
This would make a great book. Steal my idea, please.

Estrada added that it shows how frustrated the smugglers have become, but said the plot is a "bad idea" that wouldn't work. "It would be real dumb move," he said. "If that should happen, and if any of our agents are threatened or injured or killed, it's going to create a lot of unity and cooperation."
By which I infer that 'unity and cooperation' isn't the case now. One might be forgiven for asking, WHY THE HELL NOT?

The incident report concluded that the men probably were from Central America and members of either MS-13 or ex-Guatemalan Kaibiles, a military special forces unit specializing in jungle warfare and counterinsurgency. Not funny. These are the lads whose training graduation exercise sometimes includes cross-border raids on Belize, to the interest of the Gurkhas frequently stationed there. The last such dust-up of which I'm aware involved Gurkha Paras from C Company, 2nd Battalion, as I recall.
The U.S. Border Patrol, in this particular case, is WAY outclassed....

Homeland Security is "determined to gain control of the border." I'll believe this when I see it happen.
Estrada added that it shows how frustrated the smugglers have become, but said the plot is a "bad idea" that wouldn't work. "It would be real dumb move," he said. "If that should happen, and if any of our agents are threatened or injured or killed, it's going to create a lot of unity and cooperation."
Unity and cooperation. What nice liberal buzzwords. If this happens, it needs to create a lot of armed violence from our military forces.
