MANAGEMENT STATEMENT KFI-AM does not condone making light of the deaths of people engaged in religious observances. We regret that listeners found the comments of one of our on-air hosts to be insensitive. KFI does not censor its hosts, nor does it tell them what to say or not to say. KFI is a strong and passionate believer in 1st amendment rights and that is at the very core of this radio station.

Bill Handel offends listeners on a regular basis. Heck, if you are easily offended, don't listen to the guy. When people with accents call in he has standard questions. Like someone with an Asian accent, he will assume eat cats. If someone is Iranian he will assume they have marble bathrooms with chandeliers in them. He is constantly calling people morons and other names.
He is on the radio for his entertainment value.

Bill Handel is an equal opportunity offender. I'd love to hear CAIR admit to what KFI is requesting. CAIR never will. The CAIR leaders are hypocrites of the highest magnitude.

Bill did a bit during the last 30 minutes of his show on the trampling deaths over in Mecca. This last 30 minute segment is filled with irreverant/comical stories that the host and his producers comment on in a humorous manner. They're often pretty funny, and and play rough with all nationalities. That's part of Bills shtick.
The segment in question was Bill reading the details of the trampling, then suggesting that they needed a airborne traffic reporter in Mecca. They then did a mock helicoptor traffic report from Mecca with really bad, yet funny accents, while laughing the whole time.

Same guy, with two programs. Handel on the law Saturday mornings where he gives marginal law advice.
M-F his show is Handel yourself in the Morning, where he tackles all subjects with equal irreverence.
