Blogging from Death Row
An American blogger answers questions from readers around the world on his death row blog from a Baltimore prison. But with his execution date now set for the first week of Febuary, his Internet Q&A site may be short-lived.
Vernon Lee Evans has been sitting on death row in Baltimore, Maryland for more than 20 years. He doesn't have a computer or Internet access in his prison cell, but he's still managed to become one of the most-talked about people in the blogosphere. His Web site, meetvernon.blogspot.com, describes his final days on death row before his planned execution during the week of February 6. Evans relies on Virginia Simmons, an anti-death penalty activist who manages the site. Simmons collects questions from readers around the world and then sends them to Evans, who either gives handwritten or typed responses. Vernon answers questions about life on death row, often suffusing his responses with reflections of Christianity. Vernon takes questions at meetvernon@gmail.com -- but, please, nothing about last meals.

In today's world, every death row inmate is a "star".
I note that he, like Tookie, claims innocence. Anyone know anything about this case? What's the evidence?
Why is every death row inmate innocent? If you believed all of these death row inmates, you would think the justice system picks people from ramdom and sends them to death row.
That is precisely what the death penalty opponents would have us believe and probably what they believe. Moreover, I think even the ones who are there and are guilty convince themselves of their "innocence."
