I've seen some calls from DU and DC for the Dems to boycott the vote tomorrow--are they allowed to do that? Can the Senators just not show up for the vote, once cloture passes in an hour or so?

I suppose they could reject the quorum call, but if 51 Senators are in the room, it's clobberin' time.

I hope they boycott the vote and boycott the SOTU address.
It's about time that the entire country sees how deranged the once proud party of FDR and JF Kennedy has become.

The majority of the American people are behind this president and our side when it comes to the WOT and judicial nominees.
Afterall, I could use some entertainment from the court jesters.

Oh, please do. I would think they would only need a quorum and then the 51 votes. Not sure of the rules.
Good thing is there would be no way that the media could hide that.

They'll probably be holed up in a ski chalet in Davos.

Senators don't show up for votes all the time. However all it takes to hold a vote is a quorum and a quorum is 50 members. Once a quorum is present the vote commences and any not showing up just look stupid.
