Conrad is a scheming liar, but he's not stupid. He knows what his constituency wants.

And what HE wants is to keep his job. The other two that are up for re-election in Red states this fall are Bingaman (NM) and Nelson (FL).

It's a sacrifice, but I guess I'll have to go down to Florida to help whoever runs against him.
