NARAL pretty much pushed out the two biggest Dems who would have beaten Chafee easily. Chafee is NARAL's Senator which makes him way worse than Snowe or Collins who are similar to Chafee in views but aren't owned.

You know, it occurs to me that both right-wing and left-wing bloggers are having an effect on politics. The difference is that we right-wingers are HELPING our party and candidates. We raised a fuss and Miers withdrew, resulting in the excellent Alito nomination. Leftist bloggers then grew angry and have sent their guys over the cliff with this lame and stupid filibuster.

Just as Byrd and the Dakotans are voting for Alito because they represent red states, Liberman is voting against Alito because he represents a VERY blue state.
