I'll try to be brief:
Basically, the author Terrence Reed, was a cut-out for one of the Federal three letter agencies.
He wanted to play the spy game running a proprietary company for the Agency and became involved with Barry Seal, who was a pilot who flew dope for both the "Company" and anyone who'd pay him. When Reed found out his duties included facilitating the movement of cocaine, he wanted out. He P*ssed off some serious people so he was set up on a insurance fraud case. One of Slick Willies' security people did the actual investigation. If you know anything about police work, management types NEVER get involved in investigations unless there is a certain outcome that is wanted. (Basically, their skills are playing the game, sucking up and such, and avoiding actual police work because of the danger involved)
The Federal case against Reed fail apart due to lack of evidence, even the USAAG didn't want to go in front of a jury. The Judge ordered a Not Guilty finding put into the record.
Reed purported conversations where it clearly stated Slick Willie would be made President if he allowed his state to be a staging point for the product.
My Involvement: During that time frame, (early mid-eighties, I was a Detective assigned to a jail as I P*ssed of a certain corrupt Sheriff when he found out I had my sights on him.(Goggle Floyd Tidwell, crooked sheriff, for further details)
During the jail period, I met and spoke with several of Freeway Ricky Ross's Nicaraguan suppliers. One evening, two Nicaraguans where taken from the jail (by persons unknown to me) and were later murdered (again by persons unknown to me)these subjects were later FTB in the employ of a three letter agency in moving 'product'. As I learned of this, I again did my "thing" and the pressure was put on me to go away.
The proceeds from this 'product' were not only used for arms for the Contras, but to guide the collapse of the old USSR in a manner that did not start WWIII.
I have since come to terms that what was done was beneficial to mankind, even the smallest nuke would cause untold suffering.
Congress Chump Maxine Waters used to make noises about the 'product' that was sold in her district but hushed up real good after Slick appointed her husband US Ambassador to the Bahamas. (Pruty good for a used car salesman lol) At the end of Gulf War I, GHWB ratings were in the 90% range. How did a sleazy nobody from a poor state with more sleazy baggage than a Greyhound Bus Terminal come to take his job? I finally made peace with the Old Man Upstairs, so whatever happens.....Man What A Ride!)
