Could such an exchange of ideas take place, in a civil manner,

I doubt there could be an increase in incivility, over what we have now.

Someone should try.

Congress should could have panels of experts from opposing sides scheduled at separate times.

Actually, the more I consider it, the more I think it is a good idea to have a public debate, on standards of medical care, not just for the sickest among us, but for all of us...

All of us have received medical care, and have overseen medical care for our families and our loved ones...some have had far more experience with this than others....and I would guess that most of us have had what we considered to be excellent medical care, and at the opposite end we have also received what we considered to be poor medical care...

Whenever one needs medical care of any kind, there are always the truly, strictly medical issues, but there are also ethical and moral issues...

So yes, I do think a good informative public debate on this issue would be quite worthwhile...
