"What do you bet that the great majority of soldiers in the 4th ID would disagree with you?
In case you haven't noticed, these are Americans who were wounded while doing their job in a war zone.
As far as I'm concerned your drivel is anti-American."
DO you ever bother to read what people say before replying?
Let me make it VERY clear for the less intellectually endowed.
I said that I don't have allot of sympathy for this reporter. He COULD have REPORTED on the routine HEROICS that take place on a daily basis. He didn't. Now all the media circles around this JERK as if HE is a HERO. They IGNORE the REAL heroes. This reported chokes on the word "terrorist". He doesn't get it. He was over there to pursue his personal agenda, which btw wouldn't be favorable to true patriotic Americans like myself. Sure you're a PATRIOTIC American? By your response to me, I have my reservations.
Perhaps that is clearer for YOU?

see a story in that.
Not enough troops!?

"ABC said the two were traveling that way to get the perspective of the Iraqi military..." and because the US Troops got sick and tired of the camera hitting the back of their heads and the reporter asking stupid questions.

From
www.popjournalism.com:
...ABC News anchorman Bob Woodruff and his camera operator Doug Vogt have been seriously injured in an explosion. Both men suffered head injuries and sustained shrapnel wounds.
Woodruff and Vogt are currently undergoing surgery. Reports say Woodruff was taping a report inside a mechanized military vehicle near Taji, Iraq when the vehicle ran over and detonated an improvised explosive device.
ABC also reports that exchanges of small arms fire took place shortly after the explosion. MSNBC reports that Woodruff and Vogt were wearing body armor and helmets when the explosion occurred, measures that may turn out to have saved their lives...

It will be the story that US Troops are endangering the reporters by not providing 24/7 personalized security.

One thing I really like about FR is that people are willing to call each other on their bad behavior. The reprimand is deserved, and there's no shame to you for others' remarks.

The MSM and their reporters will get respect when they give respect especially to our troops.

As ABC's Justice Department correspondent in Washington in the late 1990s, Woodruff covered the office of Attorney General Janet Reno, the FBI and ATF. Apparently, nothing of significance went on in Reno's Justice Department because he finished his stint without any media awards. Hmmm.

Wonder if his face is wrecked... will ABC fire him for his looks?
$5 says "yes."

First things first.
Prayers for Woodruff and his family; and (even more) the cameraman and his family--the cameraman doesn't make as much as Woodruff, I'll bet, and presumably can less afford the loss...
Second:
Should we start a countdown of journalists killed in the Iraq "quagmire" and start rallies crying: "Press out NOW!!".
We could call it "Code Grey" after the color on the TV when the picture is fading...
In the hope that this unfortunate incident convinces reporters to stop playing petty leftist politics with soldiers' lives,
Cheers!

My usual snide comment suppressed and prayers out for those two men. They were out there doing in a very dangerous place and that is plenty brave. I might disagree with their reporting and perspective, but at least they weren't sitting in a Caravelle Hotel, making up the news to fit the template. (OK, they were out gathering up news to fit the template :) just a joke to break the tension, I couldn't resist).

Julian Philips and Chetry started going on and on about Woodruff and his cameraman, the story being about a DEDICATED JOURNALIST! One of media's favorite pastimes is covering itself.
