That is why, when Palestinians were asked to vote, they voted against Fatah. No one predicted the level of "anyone but Fatah" voters. Hamas did not plan to be the government. They prefer to lurk, criticize and sabotage. Now they have the spotlight, and it will be very interesting to watch it play out!

So they wanted homicidal mainacs who weren't corrupt? Okaaaay. Were there any Palestinian peaceniks running? Are there any doves over there? I'm just asking because if there are Palestinian peaceniks, but they were too afraid for their lives to run for office, that's not what I'd call democracy. On the other hand, if what the Palestinians wanted was mass-murdering Islamist sociopaths who wouldn't rob them blind...well, it was their choice. And the Palestinians continue to be their own worst enemy.
