LOL. Too subtle? Hon, you haven't made sense since you started making this argument and keep saying that other freepers and I have said things we clearly haven't said.

When you have to lie to make your point, it's clear you don't have one. Or is that too subtle a point for you?

Oh, my. I made the list. And the same week that Rush apparently mentioned a thread I posted here (the Byron York catch from KOS - THE LEFT TO DEMS: WE HATE YOU)

If I were not so humble I might have a swelled head!

(and before anyone says it - yes, I have much to be humble about!)

I think you might want to think about the fact that YOU decided to coming pick this fight with me. Prior to this I had addressed no comments to you in this thread. Don't try to play "poor little picked on me" because I choose to respond to your attack.

I'm sorry but I really am not interested in wasting my time trying to teach political reality to someone who utterly refuses to even think about anything beyond her own personal emotional whimsy. You want the President to play a tit for tat yelling game with the Democrats. You want him to act like a Radio Talk Show Host. That massages the feelings of the hard core but alienates the "moderates" and the undecided. That is lousy PR. It reduces the President to the Democrat's level. THEY WANT him engaged in the debate on THEIR terms at THEIR level. We want him LEADING not dancing to their tunes!

The job of "fighting back" is the Party and the other politicians in the party's job. If you actually bother to READ any of dozens posts here every day, you see it. IF all you do is listen to the Junk Journalists, YOU will NOT see it because they SPIKE any positive stories. Turn oFf the Junk Media! They are YOUR enemy and are NEVER going to agree with YOUR views no matter HOW much effort the President puts into it. The top three talk radio hosts reach MORE voters every week then ALL the Alphabet "nightly news" broadcast combined. The Whine all the Time Choir VASTLY underestimates the reach of the new media while VASTLY over rating the Junk Journalists ability to spin public opinion.

I find it incredibly arrogant that the usual set of Freepers, week in and week out, continually lecture the President, who has won multiple elections, on how to mange his PR. He has a number of very tough elections victories in his back pocket. Therefore he has proved competence on his side. I have seen NOTHING to suggest the people who spend 100% of their time lecture the President about "What he should do" have ANYTHING to show they are qualified to render any judgment on the matter.

Don't try to play "poor little picked on me"

Now you're acting delusional. Why don't you show me where I played a victim. You won't because you can't, of course.

I'm sorry but I really am not interested in wasting my time trying to teach political reality to someone who utterly refuses to even think about anything beyond her own personal emotional whimsy.

Huh? Now you aren't even making sense. About a month ago on this thread, I commented that Lindsey Graham had just let some leftist on Russert's show get away with saying that Al Qaeda wasn't in Iraq prior to the war and that the war is what brought terrorist to the region.

When I responded that nearly all freepers knew that in the 90's, the MSM wrote frequently about how Saddam was developing a relationship with AQ and that Clinton's indictment of OBL mentioned that AQ agreed to work with Iraq and it was disappointing that Graham didn't defend the administration against these false charges, you actually went on a tirade that no one listens to the media anyway and that I was ridiculous for expecting anyone to defend the lies of the left.

So instead of trying to galvanize freepers to send information to Graham to inform him and take him to task for his a) either lack of knowledge, or b) his unwillingness to engage the leftists in an argument that could be easily won, you defended the leftist's position.

Every time someone laments that a Republican didn't do an appropriate job defending themselves, you go into the same exact rant. You want the President to play a tit for tat yelling game with the Democrats.

Now I KNOW you have a reading comprehension problem and I'm wondering why I'm wasting time responding to you. Which part of my previous post about Scott McClellan and Republicans don't you understand? Any of it, apparently.

Turn oFf the Junk Media! They are YOUR enemy and are NEVER going to agree with YOUR views no matter HOW much effort the President puts into it.

You don't understand that a lot of people aren't political junkies like us and they DO listen to the "junk media". And I'm not talking about the media anyway. I'm talking about Republicans not having the talking points that most freepers have at their fingertips. Since the Republicans are ALREADY on the "junk media" shows, like Russert's as I mentioned above, wouldn't it be better if they defended the administration? In your world, the answer is clearly no.

Top 3 Posters for Sunday 29th January 2006#

Third place
Anita. Another strong showing by the once, and future Queen. Dozens of formidable posts among which these jump out. #305. Because of this. There are 15 states in which unemployment came in below 4.0 last month. Eleven of those 15 states (73%) voted for George W. Bush in Nov. 2004. And three of the four remaining states - Maryland, Vermont, and Hawaii - have had Republican governors during the past three years. There are eleven Republican governors among the 15 states. #381. Other Media Nuggets ###### New York Times fourth-quarter net earnings plunge 41 percent, hurt by a weak advertising environment. ###### WB and UPN will be merged into one broadcast network and named CW. This is not like 2 successful businesses merge. Instead of closing the losing one, they are trying make it look otherwise. ###### Media General's (owner of Richmond Times Despatch, Tampa Tribune & 23 others, also 26 tv stations) 4thQuarter earnings plunge 32%. 399 As for others appearing on MSNBC, there was a joke floating around - "If Bin Laden want to be found nowhere, he should be on any of MSNBC show debating something. 6, 12, 13, 26, 36, 60, 72, 85, 98, 149, 208, 223, 210, 274 438, 475, 501,545.

second place
Cboldt. Simply one of the best Freepers to read for Legal or Congressional analysis. Been utterly invaluable in tracking the Alito vote thru the entire process. Was the earliest and most consistent voice that there would be NO filibuster. A passionate critic of the Miers nomination,, Alito's confirmation this week was validation of all the hard work this Freeper did in making the case why the fight for the Court needed to be made. #461. "I have the anti-filibuster vote up to at least 62, by adding Snowe (in the Gang-of-14), Akaka and Dorgan. Notice that filibuster is not the talk of the town?" #500. "It's not foreign surveillance either. And to the charge of it being domestic, I think a good response is "So what? If the terrorists are in the country, should we stop listening" #536. "The President will do what he needs to, in order to protect the country, whether or not Congress is up to speed.Renewal of the Patriot Act is a Congressional activity, and whether or not it's renewed, do you think the President would modify the actions being taken to protect the country". 225, 296, 315, 333, 412, 574, 577, 625, 792, 821, 872, 999, 1054

Number One - Seattle Conservative

Getting it all in this week since you will be "busy" next Super Bowl Sunday? Another awesome display by a perpetual top tenner. 332. find it hard to believe that anyone could be so anti-American, but w the socialistic influence that seems to have infiltrated the Dem party over the years and the absolute hatred of Bush by many of them, it would appear that they will do and say anything to get power back. National Security and the War are the big issues on which most Americans were/are supporting the President and which many think helped win the last election. While it's quite unfortunate, it seems that the Dims would rather lose the war so they can take that issue away from the Pres and Pubbies. Many are also still stuck in the 60's and Viet Nam and need to fast forward 40 years to this century to see how a war can be waged. They also did not learn the lessons of VN (if Congress and the American people don't support the war, the troops lose morale and the enemy feels empowered. As has been said, wars aren't lost on the battlefield, they're lost at home (especially when you have the Dims and the MSM spinning the news and only sharing the bad news and not all of the accomplishments). 573 Ah, for the days when EX Presidents kept their big mouths shut! I agree w you - not 1 nickel to Hamas either directly or through the UN - -it would just go the way of the Oil for Food Money and continue to fund homicide bombers. 789. True. Didn't catch the program on Jan 25, but did catch the email segment a day or 2 later on BOR in which people were commenting on his segment on Air America and how Glaser (Real Networks' CEO) was pouring millions into Air America. One said they were going to immediately remove Real Player from their PC. 993. According to capitaleye, McCain got a total receipt was $5k over 2 years from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. That said, he's a Sen from AZ, so I highly suspect he gets LOTS of $$$s from tribes. http://www.capitaleye.org/abramoff_recips.asp?sort=N. 1003. Sounds like Fla is doing better than WA state; however, we'll take whatever we can get. They just found about 11,500 dead voters on the registration and over 36,000 that were registered in 2 counties. 1068. All his opponents in the primary have to do is show pictures of McCain and Hitlery in ANWR and the voters will go screaming to his opponent. 1061. "Biden Silent on Reid Stepping Down" 1071. "Yes, they are just like Kerry, gifts that keep on giving." 476, 492, 497, 510, 533, 557, 573 800, 803, 860, 880, 873, 890,897, 902, 913, 921, 925, 926, 943, 944, 982, 993, 1062, 1065, 1094, 116, 1107, 1120. and dozens and dozens of others. A truly awesome Freeper Display!

Congratulations one and all both winners and contributors alike - see you all next Sunday

Thanks for this ...

Alito's confirmation this week was validation of all the hard work this Freeper did in making the case why the fight for the Court needed to be made.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

But a "win" does not equal validation, and no "loss" is forever. Principles stand and fall, rise and shrink, somewhat in proportion to the public sentiment.

There is no need to result to foul language which incidentally is banned on this forum not just this thread.

In fact I am tempted to ask for your last post to be removed because of the language but I will not I leave it up to the mods to decide that. Also the longer it stays there others will see what happens when someone cannot win through a reasoned argument they have to resort to bad language without the courtesy of the usual symbols.

My passionate and "foul" post in that thread was removed at my personal request. It used the objected word "shitlist," as in "being on it" due to objecting to the Miers nomination and having the temerity to stand up in opposition.

The "hard work" of making a case against Miers was nothing more than simple reasoned arguments. My first objection was to "stealth," because stealth is a device that cheats the public out of government accountability.

While giddy with the confirmation of Alito, I remain concerned about the extent of personal freedom in our future, given a public that prefers party affiliation to independent reason and that is frightened out of taking risks in the fight for limited government.

I am amused, and harbor no lingering personal resentment with being tagged as "someone [who] cannot win through a reasoned argument."

I'll continue to express myself. Win or lose is not the measure.

"Getting it all in this week since you will be "busy" next Super Bowl Sunday?" LOL!

I didn't realize I posted so much this week! Yes, making up for next Sunday (and basically being absent from the thread for most of Dec).

Again, a great showing by all. This continues to be one of the most informative, fun and best threads on FReeper and it's a joy to be able to participate in it and an honor to receive this week's #1. Kudos to Cboldt and Anita and all the others for so many great posts this week.

I would also like to thank Cboldt for all of the information and knowledge they shared w us on this thread and on the Alito hearings threads. I think it really helped many of us understand the processes better.

FRegards, SC
