India is my favorite 3rd world nation. I like them. I do not mean this as an insult

Me too.

But have you made a note of their relationship with Iran's mad mullahs?

Small point, but that term went out with the Cold War (although folks still use it to apply to countries in Africa for example), during which India was a "Non-Aligned Nation."

I think India has a long way to go, but it's already come a long way -- I'm very, vEEERRY positive and bullish about India. India's economy is booming and now it's growing INTERNALLY -- not a pure export-oriented economy (like China or the ASEAN countries), but one that's growing on it's own and building it's own momentum. This can only be good for the civilised world as a whole. It's also stepping up to the plate and protecting the Malacca Straits, getting very pally with Japan and Australia and Israel. It also realises that the US and India share common principles (democracy, the rule of law) and common enemies (communism, islamofascism). Hopefully it can be the "soft power" that will pull Russia closer to the US as well,.
