Such is the classical failure of socialism.
When governments get greedy so that both partners of a marriage have to work just to survive (politicians love it when they do because then they have twice the number of salaries to tax and use to buy more votes), there is a definite reluctance to produce more wards of the state in the form of children.
And, this does not even address the threat that liberals and socialists impose on parents that they will lose their kids if they don't raise them in the state-approved way.

(finding a job, particularly in these days of high unemployment, stands much higher on the list of priorities than having babies.)
That's the problem with socialism. Everything starts with having a decent job. Socialism on average does not allow that job to be created. End of story. End of Germany. And France...
The answer is to glorify the homo lifestyle, raise taxes and promote no fault divorce ...
you know we have a seemingly large number of American men that can't find good old fashioned American women to wed and bed, so maybe they can all move to Germany and start the super race over there.......

Mothers should get a medal. I saw what my wife went through twice; definitely worth a medal -- especially for the second one, when she knew what she was volunteering for. They should get another medal for raising them to maturity. (They could share that one with the fathers.)
