Collins, a Republican, said Alito has excellent qualifications and has received the highest possible recommendation from the American Bar Association. She said she was impressed with testimony on Alito's behalf during his confirmation hearing from seven of his colleagues on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Maine's other U.S. senator, Olympia Snowe, was still weighing the nomination and has not announced her decision, said spokeswoman Antonia Ferrier.

Yes, he is one of the three Dems who've announced they would vote for Alito. Fifty-three of the fifty-five republicans have announced they would vote to confirm. One dem has announced he is leaning towards voting for confirmation.
There are about 5-7 others who've indicated they would "vote against a filibuster," so that would put those in favor of a filibuster under the 40 threshold to sustain a filibuster.
I thought she announced it the other day.
Pubbies in ME should ask themselves if Snowe would still do the right thing if she wins re-election and Stevens retires after her win.
