I don't recall Giuliani being real strident about his liberal social positions - - more like, "Okay. I'm running for Mayor of friggin' New York City - - so what're my positions on these idiotic issues I never gave three seconds thought about?" I mean, he'll have to stick to those positions he originally staked out for political purposes, but I doubt he'll jump up and down about any of it or have any "litmus test" for abortion, etc.

The only thing I would worry about is...that Bush has already come out in favor of a constitutional amendment making marriage between one man and one woman...

And, if we don't get it done before he leaves office...could we count on Guilini to pick up the fight until it is accomplished??

THAT is where his liberal social leanings could present a problem for him.

Having said that...if the alternative is McCain, I doubt that his liberal social views would hurt him.
