The only thing I would worry about is...that Bush has already come out in favor of a constitutional amendment making marriage between one man and one woman...

And, if we don't get it done before he leaves office...could we count on Guilini to pick up the fight until it is accomplished??

THAT is where his liberal social leanings could present a problem for him.

Having said that...if the alternative is McCain, I doubt that his liberal social views would hurt him.

I will never vote for McCain. Period.
I have always said that the worst possible damage that the GOP can do to itself (and the nation) is inflicted by "moving to the center" (a little bit of cancer, the theory goes, is okay). I will never again vote for my Congressman, Mike Fitzpatrick. As with his predecessor, Jim Greenwood, I voted for him the first time and then discovered what he was.
