In the scramble to take over the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Democratic Senator Mark Dayton, likely Republican nominee Representative Mark Kennedy is neck-and-neck with DFL county attorney Amy Klobuchar. (The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party or DFL is the state's equivalent of the Democratic Party.)

Pawlenty was aided by having a boring opponent in DFLer Roger Moe, and an Independence Party candidate who sucked more votes away from the DFL than they did the MN Republicans. I'm hoping for the best, but I'm not hopeful if you understand what I mean.
In Addition, Pawlenty leading Hatch only by 3%.
After the death of Wellstone and the victories of Coleman & Pawlenty, I was really hoping it was a sign of realignment in Minnestoa. However with recent polling, it seems that the 2002 Victories were just a "one night stand". I hope Hatch & Klobuchar try to milk Wellstone's Death for political gain again.
