Too bad the GOP doesn't want the young black man described in the article under its' tent.
To: Founding Father
I'm not sure what you're saying, but the GOP does indeed want blacks "under their tent." Unlike the DNC, we don't want them for their blackness. We want them for their humanity.
Or are you saying it's too bad the GOP has distanced itself from the Minute Men? In which case I agree with you.

Civil rights leaders, and the Congressional Black Caucus, have repeatedly condemned the thinly disguised race tinged appeals of the Minuteman Project, Save Our State, and the legions of other fringe anti-immigration groups that have cropped up in nearly every part of the country in recent months. This is the Credo of The Left. "Enforce Our Immigration Laws" = "Racism" The card is so easy to play, and everyone on our side just runs away.
But the worm is turning and, finally, Conservatives are standing up to and correcting The Left when they repeat these favorite talking points.

Until American blacks admit that they are their own worst enemies and clean-up their act, they will be surpassed by every other immigrant group that comes here.

...a young black man in the audience stood up and proudly, even defiantly, shouted that he was a member of the Minuteman Project.Ah, a patriot.

Earl Ofari Hutchinson is right up there with Jesse Jackson when it comes to race baiting, and inefectual diologue. Have to say I'm pleased that our black brothers and sisters are supporting the minuteman project.

Many in the black community have been sold a bill of goods..you can sell almost anything if the most trusted voices a person hears are all agreeing with you.

I would say that the fear is rational. It's basic economics. If you increase the supply of labor without increasing the amount of capital, the wage goes down.

Too bad the GOP doesn't want the young black man described in the article under its' tent. Why would you say that? I was thinking just the opposite. The GOP needs young men like this brave fellow who was willing to stand up for what he believes in the face of ridicule and possible danger.
I don't believe your statement above is correct.
To: Founding Father
OK, never mind, I see post #6.
To: Founding Father
The black vote is fragmenting along class lines.
The class interest of that young man in the audience is sharply different from the class interest of a middle class liberal politician who views Hispanics as allies and thinks Black Christians need to be 'educated' to support sodomite marriage.

This whole thread is too divisive for my taste. How about less focus on skin color and more focus on illegal immigration?
To: Founding Father
A shrinking economy, savage state and federal government cuts in and the elimination of job and skills training programs, failing public schools, a soaring black prison population, and employment discrimination are still the major reasons for the grim employment prospects and poverty in inner city black neighborhoods.Nope. Bill Cosby got it right even though this author did not. The breakdown in the family structure and the failure of black men to act as fathers for the children they produce is the major cause of black inner city problems.

B.S. Off hand I can't think of one self described black leader in the Congress that wants other than open borders and amnesty.
IMHO: Black leaders want more poor folks to represent which will translate into DemocRAT votes.
To: ozarkgirl
I don't believe your statement above is correct. You're letting the young man's color confuse you. The GOP does not want MinuteMen and those that oppose illegal immigration under its' tent, which is why this young man would not be welcomed by the GOP.

Immigration policies are about eliminating white America, full stop. They are above all a product of racial ideology and hatred, genocidal at their roots, which is why Earl Oaf Hutchinson supports them. He doesn't really care if they have an effect of blacks.

Classic straw-man rhetoric:
"there is no concrete evidence that the majority of employers hire Latinos at low-end jobs and exclude blacks from them solely because of their race."
Has anyone ever alleged all this? "Concrete"? "Majority"? "Solely"?

Most Blacks totally miss the point. For years Blacks were THE Minority now Hispanics and Blacks are the Minority. What the future problem is for Blacks is that when the Hispanics become politically powerful it is the Blacks who will suffer as government Social Money is allocated to the Hispanics. This is what the Main Stream Media should be focusing on instead of the HATE Pres. Bush philosophy they have.
Blacks have no clue and if Blacks think that there is a Rainbow coalition they are totally naive.
