The sentence for the guy in Vermont has been changed by the same judge, to 3 years at least. Well-deserved public pressure goaded on largely by B O'R. Formerly known as a hanging judge, Cashman has been lately trying on a new persona, "the non-judgmental judge". It hasn't been working as he hoped.

Perhaps he should remember that a contradiction in terms is not what his job description is about.
If you read the local Vermont rags, they are mostly full of anger, not against a long term child rapist running loose in their state, but rather, against us red states interfering with their beloved judge.

Really? I hadn't heard that the verdict had been changed, 3 years is still nothing for repeatedly molesting a child but certainly better than the 60 days.
Last I heard he was refusing to change his verdict even if it "considerably shortened his career".
