North Korea Warns of Nuclear War

SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea warned of nuclear war Saturday and vowed to strengthen its deterrent forces as it demanded that Washington show evidence backing its allegation that the communist regime is counterfeiting U.S. money.

"Dark clouds of a nuclear war are hanging low over the Korean Peninsula," the North's official Rodong Sinmun newspaper said in a commentary carried by state-run Korean Central News Agency.

"The ever-more frantic moves of the U.S. to ignite a new war against (North Korea) would only compel it ... to bolster its deterrent for self-defense in every way."

The North repeatedly has accused the United States of planning to attack. Washington has denied any such intention.

The North's comments Saturday follow a South Korea-U.S. agreement this month giving American troops more flexibility in the South.

The North said the pact was aimed at preparing for war.

Communist dictators use fear to control their people. Venezuelans and Bolivians should look at how people are starving in North Korea. Because that's where communism will lead them as well.

Mercifully, Reagan's "star wars" programs have continued despite the traitorous dems bitching and moaning every step of the way. They will come in handy.

True, but it might also lead them to this country. We already have an illegal immigration problem. - Tom

Thanks for the warning, but when we start a nuclear war in Korea it will be because we want one - and Kim won't be alive to croon about it.

Even if the insane regime in Pyongyang were to run their puny atomic production facilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the next 10 years, they would have but a fraction of the nuclear firepower in just ONE Ohio-class SSBN, which as a matter of fact could target the entire North Korean nation while casually docked in Hawaii.

At some point, the ChiComs in Bejing are going to realize that if the North Koreans provoke a nuclear exchange with the U.S., that fallout recognizes no national boundaries. It will then be in their best interest to give Kim Jong Il and his crew a sendoff worthy of Ceausescu and his wife in Romania.

Wouldn't be much of a war. North Korea's half dozen fission bombs are reportedly the size of cars. They would have to be delivered by trucks.

Translation: Hamas? Iran? No. Look at me. We are the threat. We need your aide. Our good friends the Chinese communists can help you control us. Look. Look. We are a big threat.

Every bit as much as that, I doubt very much that the PRC wants a democratic 'south' Korea right on their border- which would be the logical outcome of such a war. Last time that almost happened, the Chinese responded militarily.

The North might have a chance if they keep their strategic weapons holstered and go conventional. Maybe.

The communists are bad enough, but the Iranian madmen are worse. The Iranian leadersip, being religious fanatics, have no fear of a nuclar war. The North Koreans, being communist, must fear not only the loss of their lives but of their state, IMHO.

Would that be the ONE in the East China Sea, or the One in the Sea of Japan? :)

Seriously though, I don't think there are enough targets in North Korea to be worth dedicating a single Ohio to them. Just a couple of LA class attack subs with nuclear armed Tomahawks, or maybe a couple of Frigates similarly armed.

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

How many times does this make that they have threateded all out nuclear war if they don't get their way?

I'm hoping there is a sniper someday who can drill "Blessed Leader" a new anus in the middle of his forehead, and solve the NK problem once and for all.
