THE TRUTH HITS CLOSE TO HOME---Can't Repubs say "Mary Jo Kopechne?"
NY POST ^ | 1/28/06 | EDITORIALS

Posted on 01/28/2006 6:51:46 AM PST by Liz

THE ISSUE: Sen. Ted Kennedy's membership in Harvard's all-male Owl Club. Picking on the ponderous Sen. Ted Kennedy is like picking only the low-hanging fruit — it's too easy......

*** ....when he first ran for the Senate, Kennedy's opponent said, "If your name was Edward Moore, instead of Edward Moore Kennedy, your candidacy would be a joke"........ the joke has been on us. Paul Bloustein Cincinnati, Ohio

*** The person responsible (for Teddy's dog Splash's name) may well be Ted's old friend and occasional nemesis — John Barleycorn. James Ring Ossining

*** Now that he's become a leading anti-Republican attack dog, positioning himself as Washington's leading arbiter of truth and integrity..... It's time to say the name "Mary Jo Kopechne" out loud. Bill Morin Vernon, Conn.

This picture says it all.

The Puppet and the Puppet-Master.

In 04' I said all along Kerry was a proxie for Kennedy and his lost potential and opportunity.

All hopes of having the strings of power are gone. Teddy is now vacant, he could have been a contenda, also true for aging babby-boomer leftist.

Plus now many of the white Protestants are liberals, willing to vote Democrat no matter what.

Then they are completely morally bankrupt, because it's not even just a little corruption,it's a cynically hypocritical murdering drunkard that they keep honoring with the title of "Senator".I don't know how any senators with any character, can even stand his presence amongst them.

The buzz is that when Martha-Ann Alito was driven to tears at the hearings, she was devastated hearing Teddy lacerate her husband, b/c Martha-Ann knew Mary Jo Kopechne personally.

He is a national disgrace, and "amoral gasbag" is right on the money, but I blame the citizens of his state that have voted for him - all these years.

I just spent this past week working in Peabody, MA - quite a change in culture from the "Heartland" here in Nebraska. I asked the family to pray for me extra hard during the week. When they asked - "how come, Dad?", I told them that I was going to a place where the majority of the people have voted to send Ted Kennedy to congress for the past 30 years and that I might not make it home alive. Got home safe, and in time to get in 9 holes (it was 58 degrees yesterday afternoon). It warms my heart to know God hears the prayers of my kids.

I don't even know how to think about that, considering the power that was attached to the Kennedy name at that time.It had to be difficult for them in every way,but I know that if it had been my husband's daughter,no threat under Heaven could've kept him from making Kennedy pay.

The fact that the Kennedys got away with their crimes (remember that Joe was truly the Irish Godfather, the most significant Irish organized crime figure during prohibition) was directly responsible for creating the Clinton nightmare.

The Clintons both believed if you lied enough and cheated enough and got powerful enough nobody could touch you.

That was the lesson of the Kennedy "family".

Both the Kennedy and Clinton clans are RICO operations, pure and simple.

Here is a link to an excellent book on Chappequiddick. Senatorial Privilege: The Chappaquiddick Cover-Up - by Leo Damore

Leo Damore knew Cape Cod very well. It's politics, etc. A talented and fair journalist, from the days when such a thing could be said.

" It's time to say the name "Mary Jo Kopechne" out loud."

After 35 years?

The GOP wouldn't even touch the overwhelming evidence in rape case(s) against Bubba...

Politics 101: The elites protect the elites no matter what.

What IS it with some MA voters anyway?

Simple--Kennedy brings home the bacon. They'll keep voting him in as long as he continues to flush Massachussets with fed money. For instance, how many jobs and careers were created and depend on the billions he hooked for the "Big Dig"?

Besides picking on Kennedy, what I love about Teddy threads is someone always thinks to post the Chappaquiddik expose and, since the '04 election cu=ycle, someone usually posts a VVAW pic showing "poor" Hanoi John Boy's REAL handler.

It's a sad example of the end justifies the means.

Some of them are overcome by the Communist vision of things, and think that to make an omelet it's necessary to break a few eggs. Some of them have probably wiped Teddy's history out of their minds and still think of Camelot. Some of them are country clubbers who volunteer for Planned Parenthood and put the right to abortion and the right to perversion ahead of everything else. Teddy may be a murderer, but he can be relied on to preserve their right to an abortion.

Yes, it's pretty sick, but it's easier to think that way when there's a whole culture thinking the same way.

I actually have friends who are friends of Teddy Kennedy. I remember an incident when I was helping my wife who had volunteered to do the spaghetti dinner for the kids in the club kitchen, and I told a joke that was going around at the time. The Queen Elizabeth II had hit an uncharted reef somewhere off the coast, and the joke was that it must have run into Teddy Kennedy's car.

Just after telling it, I looked up, and there was Teddy's friend and host (the good Senator was there for the weekend), who had just walked in, scowling at my back. A bit embarrassing, but I couldn't feel too sorry about it, because if anybody deserved it, it was Teddy Kennedy.

Really, why do the other senators let him get away with it? I don't expect them to just attack him out of the blue, but when he sits in judgement on someone like Samuel Alito and brazenly, hypocritically attacks him for something of which drunKennedy is truly guilty, why do they keep still? It doesn't make sense.
