Democrats concede Judge Alito victory
The Washington Times ^ | January 28, 2006 | Charles Hurt

Sen. John Kerry dashed home from the Swiss Alps yesterday to man the barricades of a futile filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. Well before he reached the battlefield, however, Democrats had waved the white flag and agreed that next week's vote to confirm Judge Alito will surely succeed. "Everyone knows there is not enough votes to support a filibuster," Minority Leader Harry Reid said yesterday, several hours before Mr. Kerry arrived. By midday, Republicans had dubbed Mr. Kerry's international politicking the "Swiss Miss." White House spokesman Scott McClellan called it a "pretty historic" day. "This was the first time ever that a senator has called for a filibuster from the slopes of Davos, Switzerland," Mr. McClellan said. "I think even for a senator, it takes some pretty serious yodeling to call for a filibusters from a five-star ski resort in the Swiss Alps."

French Boy snowboarded his way home. I'm surprised he didn't hit a tree before he reached Washington! ;-)

More than anything, Kerry let Hillary know that he's not out of the game for '08.

He plans to run from the left again, and wants to pull her away from the "center".

Of course, we all know she's not in the center. The media is just telling everyone that she is.

Make no mistake; this was a shot across the bow from Kerry to Hillary Clinton.

In all fairness to JFK, Kerry was able to obtain the support of 4 others for his filibuster.

One aspect of the fallout from the Alito nomination will be the obvious fact that the Democrats are voting only for their political advantage. There is no "principal" involved. Qualifications don't matter. Right and wrong are not relevant. This is a matter of pure political expediency.

So did I pay for that flight?

Nah, it was paid for by Tacky Terry along with the two tickets at $25,000 a pop.

You really do have to laugh at liberals. They spend thousands of dollars to fly to a ski resort in the alps, pay $25,000 a ticket to attend a conference on world poverty. The money they spent on this could have irradicated poverty in a small African country. None-the-less the morons feel good about themselves and don't realize that the rest of the world is laughing at them.

Kerry takes it very much to heart that European elites wish he had won the election. So every time he goes to Europe he gets a swelled head and thinks he's the legitamite president.

Bingo! Except that his head is always swollen, so it might be more accurate to say an even bigger head...in length, of course!

Right on the money my friend! How many attendees? We should do the math and start a post...
