We are where the rubber meets the road. There are no "shoulds", "coulds," "oughts" with us; we saw our troops being smeared and we acted, as a team, again and again, until we subdued the menace. In real life, we have a wide variety of professions in which decisive action is also valued along with intellectual skill. Criticism is the province of fools. We are committed, not just in theory.
That Freep took place about the time that our troops were in the sand heading toward Baghdad. Baghdad Bob was screeching that our troops were going to be smashed by the elite forces of Saddam's army.
Jim Robinson, JustAmy and Mountaingrl all posted extensive threads about our Freeps that started in 2001 and last for about 2 years. I don't know if they are in the archives, but there is a very good possibility that they would be lsited with a link on Jim Robinson's home page.
We are currently down to about once a month on the first Friday of the month. So this Friday we will be there to counter Peace Fresno. We are down in numbers also, but we have our regulars that are there almost every month.

Barbara Striesand...reread your comments.
I just see a tendency here that I honestly believe contradicts true conservatism and I think people should consider. That's all.
You we lecturing, not discussing.
This is a forum, right? We discuss ideas?
You went on the attack. Now you want a truce?
You, on the other hand came out with both barrels blazing. (Which was no surprise to me, given our last little go 'round about this topic a few years back.)
Like I said, I'll never bring it up again.
You're a better man than I.
I would be telling the Code Pink people all about the nice reeducation camp accomodations they might get if this WOT ever involves a nuclear attack on American soil.
Seriously. That is how I handled traitors when I still lived in the USA. I find it easier to live in Europe now where I don't really meet traitors.
"I would really like to tell you what I truly feel..."
Actually you did. G-D bless you FM, and G-D bless our Troops.
As you asked Takoma in your Post #124 for back up of her word, I ask, "Do you have a link to your active support of the troops". Talk is cheap.
Bush has spent the last five years trying to be above the fray and it has gotten him NO WHERE! So long as the MSM controls the news content, we have to fight back where and how we can. The troops that talk to us in front of WR and sometimes stand with us support our "4 year old" efforts.
You may want to be part of the "silent majority" as in the 60s & 70s, but those at WR and other sites throughout the USA do not.
[Mr] T
Please tell your son I said
"Thank You for your service to our country."
Sure you do. /sarcasm
Looks like it could be she-it to me.
I've also helped organize a Support the Troops Rally with some High Schoolers, I'm getting a movement spearheaded at my university to get a "Support the Troops" display case mounted on the wall in the Student Center, I've given speeches on the Heroes of Flight 93, when President Reagan died I organized a day-long vigil in an auditorium, I'm advisor to the College Republicans on my campus, but nobody cares about all that stuff. I'm just posting it because you asked.
Thanks for letting me know about this important part of FR's history of activism. I joined up in '04 and missed a lot of good times!
Read that again and tell me teach logic...
You, on the other hand came out with both barrels blazing.
Be nice and people will be nice to you. Come out swing and expect to get decked...
(Which was no surprise to me, given our last little go 'round about this topic a few years back.)
Funny how I don't recall that but you do. Must be a reason...
"Sounds like a bunch of 4 year olds....on both sides."

joesbucks, it sounds like you have no concept of putting your ass into something you believe in. Tonight you are only able to muster a holier-than-thou little insult on a keyboard.
There are soldiers in that hospital who were protecting that sorry, lazy ass of yours when they were injured. How about some respect for the FRoops (Free Republic troops) who are protecting our domestic secondary line of defense against the commies from within our borders? I'll bet you don't even know that the patients in that hospital appreciate what the FRoopers are doing for them outside, do you?
"...but nobody cares about all that stuff."
Oh, but we do care. Thanks for your efforts. You are the one who has denigrated the efforts of the WR FReepers. If you find this type of thread "silly", move on. I have witnessed the FRiday night FReeps and these folks are neither extreme or radical. The only "extreme" I've seen is their extreme love and support for our Troops and our Country.
For what it's worth, I support the FReepers at Walter Reed 100%. Thank you for showing up every week.
And to you, TPT, thanks for the "display case."
Thank you for your assesment.
soldiers in that hospital who were protecting that sorry, lazy ass of yours
God bless them. BTW, why are you fixated on my tushe?
