Clinton to support Alito filibuster Says she’ll join Sen. Kerry in blocking Alito’s nomination, putting her at odds with top Democrats

BY GLENN THRUSH WASHINGTON BUREAU

January 27, 2006, 9:41 PM EST

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday announced she'll join potential 2008 presidential rival John Kerry in voting to filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, just as top Democratic leaders predicted the effort is likely doomed.

With three Democratic senators pledging support for Alito, the New Jersey conservative seems virtually assured of being confirmed by the full Senate Monday or Tuesday, party leaders predicted Friday. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters in Washington that "everyone knows" Senate Democrats couldn't muster the 40 votes needed to support a last-ditch filibuster.

That's how my uncle was back then, and still is to this day.

My mom said that when she was going to take her driving test for her driver's license, he rode along with her downtown and said he wanted to get a creme soda at the local diner while she was going to get her driver's test taken. Mom went in to meet with the examiner, and they both went out to the car, and as soon as mom turned the key on the wipers took off, and the radio blared really loud.

Too funny! And you're nervous enough taking your driving test!

LOL! Yeah, mom still gives her older brother the nasty leer when she talks about that incident. My uncle just laughs hysterically. Mom said both her and the examiner about flew right through the roof of the car. LOL!

They (Dems & the super leftists/socialists) went over the edge after election 2000. They saw/still see Bush 43 as an illegitimate president. They feel victory was stolen from them by the courts. Similar to the way we feel about Gregoire in Washington state. Only amplified to the Nth degree.

I still remember taking mine, my boyfriend (now hubby) brought me. Mostly uneventful compared to your Mom's. That was the first and last time I ever paralled parked though!

The fact they view him as a dumb cowboy (that's always been their biggest mistake) has made it even worse.

I remember taking mine. I drove my folks' Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. That alone made me nervous because the rear window was so small and the car was a large luxury car. Driving down the street and turning corners was easy, but then I started sweating bullets when the examiner wanted me to parallel park. I passed though! Because we parallel parked along a street where there were hardly any cars.

Well, there's only about 2,500 people just in the county here alone, which works out to roughly 1 person per 7 miles. LOL

There was a little course right at the motor vehicle place for mine, no REAL roads! I learned to drive with my husband's mother's Ford station wagon with the wood grain on the sides, can't recall the name of the model, but I took the test luckily in my own '65 Mustang, easier to parallel park with for sure!

They're building endless townhouses here, won't be a speck of land left soon. We, unfortunately, have been in an apt. for 18 LONG years and we are so totally sick of having morons living above us. In all the years we only had decent neighbors once out of the 6 or 7 or more that have occupied the upstairs apt.

The driving test here wasn't too bad, even though I was out on real streets. A small town (with only one street light) and very little traffic. LOL!

The Drivers Ed driving test was pretty cool, we basically took a "Sunday drive" along some backroads in the countryside in a little FORD Escort. LOL

I didn't mind apartment living in college. Lived in a pretty quiet neighborhood on the second level, and there was an old codger who lived below me and he would crank his heat up really high during the winter. And well, you know what they say about heated air (it rises), so it kept me warm too. (I didn't have to run my furnace all that much) LMAO

I wouldn't trade living in a house these days though.

In high school, for the driving course, it was a gigantic Chevy boat of some sort, hated that thing.
