SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) -- A local Internet news site reported Saturday that a top aide to North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was arrested in Macao earlier this month. Citing Japanese diplomatic sources, DailyNK claimed Kang Sang-choon, a secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chief of staff to Kim, was detained in connection to circulation of forged U.S. dollars and money laundering.
DailyNK, which specializes in news related to the reclusive communist country, also said the arrest may have taken place on Jan. 11 and that South Korean and Japanese intelligence services are in the process of verifying the information.
Regarding the allegations, a source at the National Intelligence Service, South Korea's spy agency, said it received information on the matter. The official, however, said the agency is not in a position to offer a confirmation at this time.
Experts here said Kang is not involved in his country's policy-making process.

`Bout time.
The North Koreans are notorious for counterfeiting and drug running. It`s how they keep the country afloat.

We could learn a lot from these guys about printing our own moolah! They've got the know-how, we've got the technology, right here in our offices and homes.

Ya think? Good one!
But seriously, a report from NK I read just today says that Dear Leader spends "between $650,000 and $720,000 a year on exotic wines" Plus, he collects "erotic art", read: porno. Does all that cash comes courtesy of US taxpayers? Who knows.

It's the radioactive currency that's really worrisome.

Bull spit, Revolting Cat, these despots are not sophisticated they are bitterly crude.
Any self-respecting street gang has more finesse that the clown who rules a poor, indigent, North Korean nation.
The Head Joke of North Korea (Kim Jong), once kidnapped an escapee from his despotic rule, while the lucky escapee and his wife were enjoying a free life in Japan.
Back home the royal jerk put the playwright and his arty wife in charge of developing the preforming arts for the pleasure and delight of the sad and starving people of North Korea.
Forgive me, I can't help it if I get irked when I think of an entire nation serving time in a prison camp.
